About the Department

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning was established with the vision of imparting quality education and promoting excellence in the rapidly advancing fields of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. The department is dedicated to nurturing competent professionals by providing a strong foundation in theoretical concepts, practical skills, and ethical values. Through a comprehensive curriculum that integrates emerging technologies with experiential learning and innovative practices, the department aims to prepare graduates for successful careers, entrepreneurship, and higher studies in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Data Science, and other related disciplines. The department also strives to foster a culture of lifelong learning, innovation, and societal responsibility to address contemporary technological and real-world challenges.

Students Leadership

BrainByte, the Students’ Association aims to motivate the students to involve in co-curricular and extracurricular activities and it is functioning with the vision of improving the managerial and technical skills of the student community.

    Eligibility

    A pass in +2 (Academic / Vocational Stream) conducted by the Government of Tamil Nadu or any other examination accepted as Equivalent by the Syndicate of Bharathiar University.

InnovAlte Cell:

  • The InnovAlte Cell functions with the motto of "Unlock Your Intelligence, Think Beyond the Obvious." The cell aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills required for AI model development, hackathon participation, and startup idea generation, fostering innovation, creativity and entrepreneurial thinking. Active: Brain Teaser Activity, Innovative Ideas, AI Pulse Magazine
  • TaletForge Forum:

  • The TalentForge Forum will function with the aim of, equip students with the skills and competencies required for successful placements. The following activity will be conducted through this forum. Active: Training Programme on Resume Preparation, Group Discussion, Mock Interview
  • SocialBotics Club:

  • The SocialBotics Club functions with the motto of "Create, Connect, and Communicate." The club aims to equip students with practical skills in video editing, audio editing, digital content creation, social media management, and visual storytelling. It encourages creativity while helping students build professional communication and digital marketing skills.
  • CulturaX Club:

  • The CulturaX Club functions with the motto "Celebrate Culture, Inspire Creativity." The club aims to nurture students' artistic, cultural, and leadership talents by providing a platform to showcase their creativity, preserve cultural values, and promote teamwork through various cultural activities. Active: CulturaX Talent Quest, Talent Show.
    • Bridge Course - 08.07.2026:


      The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized the Bridge Course on 08.07.2026. The programme was conducted in four sessions to provide students with a strong foundation in Artificial Intelligence and its applications.

    • The first session, held from 09.45 a.m. to 10.55 a.m., focused on the topic "Basics of Artificial Intelligence." The resource person for the session was Ms. S. Hemalatha, Assistant Professor (SG), Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
    • The second session, conducted from 11.00 a.m. to 12.15 p.m., covered the topic "Bridge to AI Coding." The resource person was Dr. S. Dhivya, Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
    • The afternoon session, held from 1.00 p.m. to 2.15 p.m., focused on "AI for Effective Communication." The resource person was Ms. S. Sobhika, Assistant Professor, Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
    • The final session, conducted from 2.20 p.m. to 3.45 p.m., covered the topic "Mathematics for Intelligent Systems." The resource person was Ms. P. Kiruthika, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science (UG)
    • The Bridge Course successfully introduced students to the fundamentals of Artificial Intelligence, AI programming, communication skills, and the mathematical concepts essential for intelligent systems, providing them with a strong foundation for their academic journey in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.

      Inauguration Ceremony - 14.07.2026

    • The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized the Inauguration Ceremony of the BrainByte Students' Association on 14.07.2026. The Chief Guest and Resource Person for the event was Mr. Senthil Kumar Viswanathan, Associate Consultant – Disaster Recovery & Backup, HCL Technologies, Bengaluru. He addressed the students on the importance of disaster recovery, data backup, and industry best practices, while encouraging them to develop technical expertise and professional skills for successful careers in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technology.
    • Skill Development Programme - 15.07.2026 & 16.07.2026

      The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning organized a Two-Day Skill Development Workshop on 15.07.2026 and 16.07.2026 to enhance the communication, interpersonal, and employability skills of students. The Resource Person for the workshop was Dr. D. Aarthi, B.E., M.B.A., Ph.D., PGDGC., Seasoned Leadership Coach and Founder of Mentora.

    • On the first day (15.07.2026), the resource person delivered an interactive session on Communication Skills and Overcoming Fear. She emphasized the importance of effective verbal and non-verbal communication, confidence building, public speaking, and techniques to overcome stage fear and self-doubt. The session included engaging activities that encouraged students to communicate confidently.
    • On the second day (16.07.2026), the session focused on Group Discussion (GD) and Interview Skills. Dr. D. Aarthi provided practical guidance on GD techniques, interview etiquette, resume presentation, body language, and strategies for answering HR and technical interview questions. Mock group discussions and interview activities were conducted to give students hands-on experience and boost their confidence.
