Road Safety Club

Objectives

  • To create Road Safety Awareness among the students and enhance their knowledge and skills to avoid accidents and also to educate every individual amidst them.
  • To demeanour a special campaign about the use of helmet & seat belt and also to adhere traffic rules.
  • To encourage a culture of safety, accountability, and community involvement, the Road Safety Club significantly contributes to the creation of a safer driving environment.

  • The Road Safety Club organized a series of online competitions from 18.11.2025 to 22.11.2025. The events included Poster Making, Essay Writing, Slogan Writing, Quiz Competition, and Short Video Making. These competitions were specifically focused on engaging college students and encouraging them to creatively express their ideas while strengthening their understanding of road safety rules, responsible driving behaviour, and traffic regulations.
  • The Road Safety Club, in collaboration with the Anti-Drug Committee, YRC, NCC, NSS, and RRC, organized a Road Safety Awareness Rally on 15.12.2025, from the Erode Collectorate to Sampath Nagar, in observance of Road Safety Week. The rally was primarily aimed at creating awareness among the general public regarding the importance of adhering to traffic regulations, wearing helmets and seat belts, and practicing safe and responsible road behaviour.
  • The Road Safety Club and the Department of English, in association with NCC, YRC, NSS, and RRC, organized a Drug Awareness Seminar on 30.01.2026 in the Main Block classrooms on the theme “Say No to Drugs and Yes to Helmet: Choose Life, Ride Safe.”The programme focused on creating awareness among college students about the harmful effects of drug abuse and highlighting the importance of wearing helmets and following road safety rules to lead a safe and responsible life.
  • The Road Safety Club organized an Awareness Programme for Public and Commercial Vehicle Drivers on 04.02.2026. The programme included informative speeches followed by a pledge-taking session to promote road safety, responsible driving habits, and greater public awareness. The initiative was specifically focused on educating the general public and commercial drivers, emphasizing their vital role in ensuring safe and disciplined transportation for the public.
  • The Road Safety Club, in association with the Department of Commerce, organized a Awareness Pledge on Road Safety Programme in front of the Main Block on 21.02.2026. The programme focused on creating awareness about traffic rules and encouraging students and the public to follow road safety measures responsibly.
  • The Road Safety Club organized a series of online competitions such as Photography, Slogan Writing, and Reels making on the theme “Road Safety Awareness”, from 21.02.2026 to 23.02.2026, with a focused objective of enhancing awareness about traffic regulations and promoting safe driving practices among college students.
  • The Road Safety Club organized a Awareness Programme cum Guest Lecture on Road Safety Measures on 23.02.2026 at the Silver Jubilee Hall. Mr. S.R.Ramesh, Inspector of Police, South Traffic Police Station, Erode, addressed the gathering and delivered an informative session on traffic rules and essential road safety guidelines for students. The programme was specifically designed to create awareness among college students, with a strong emphasis on responsible road behaviour and strict adherence to traffic regulations.
  • The Road Safety Club organized a Traffic Sign Identification Quiz on 23.02.2026 at the Silver Jubilee Hall. The programme focused on strengthening college students’ knowledge of traffic signs and encouraging them to follow road safety rules responsibly.
  • The Road Safety Club, in association with the Department of English, organized an Awareness Mime on Road Safety in front of the College Main Building on 23.02.2026. The programme aimed to enhance awareness among college students regarding the importance of adhering to traffic regulations and fostering responsible road safety practices.
  • The Road Safety Club organized an Awareness Programme on First Aid Procedures and CPR Techniques on 24.02.2026.The programme was initiated by Dr. T. Kathirravan, MD, CCS, Department of Anesthesia, Government Hospital Erode, along with Mr. Manikandan, Theatre Assistant, Government Hospital, Erode, as the resource persons. They delivered an informative session on first aid procedures to be administered during road accidents and demonstrated CPR techniques to handle emergency situations effectively. The programme was specifically focused on creating awareness among college students about the importance of timely first aid response and life-saving measures in road-related emergencies.
  • The Road Safety Club, in association with the Department of Corporate Secretaryship with CA and Professional accounting , organized a Street Play in front of the Main Building on 24.02.2026. The programme focused on promoting awareness of road safety measures, adherence to traffic rules and regulations, responsible driving practices, and pedestrian safety among students.
  • The Road Safety Club, in association with the Department of Commerce (CA), organized a Road Safety Rally from Veepampalayam to Mettukadai on 25.02.2026. The rally focused on creating road safety awareness among the public by promoting compliance with traffic rules, encouraging responsible road usage, and distributing informative pamphlets to enhance understanding of safe driving practices.
  • The Road Safety Club organized a Digital Awareness Chart Competition on Traffic Regulation on 10.03.2026 to promote awareness and responsibility among college students regarding traffic rules and road safety measures. The programme focused on creating awareness about traffic regulations, encouraging responsible road behaviour among students, and enhancing their creative and digital skills, thereby improving their understanding of road safety and strengthening their sense of social responsibility.

  • The Road Safety Club, in association with the National Cadet Corps, organized a Road Safety Awareness Rally on 22.11.2024.
  • A Road Safety Awareness Programme was conducted on 02.01.2025, Mr. S.R. Ramesh, Inspector of Police, South Traffic Police Station, Erode, addressed the students about traffic rules and safety measures while driving.
  • The Road Safety Club, in collaboration with the Anti-Drug Committee, organized an awareness programme titled “Empowered Youth: Road Safety and a Drug-Free Life” on 28.01.2025. Mr. M. Murugaboopathi, Divisional Engineer, Ms. Gunavathi, Assistant Divisional Engineer, and Mr. D. Sivasubramanian, Assistant Engineer, Road Safety Wing, Tirupur, spoke to the students about road safety measures.
  • Additionally, the Eco Club, in association with the Road Safety Club, conducted a survey on plastic usage among the public on 25.02.2025 through Google Forms and Physical Forms.
